Load bearing signs
To be able to safely load onto your racks, it is important that you know the load capacity of your pallet racking beams and frames. Load bearing signs can be used to inform us of the maximum bay/shelf capacity. These signs should be clearly displayed on each rack.Staff safety
If you do not know the load capacity, you run the risk of placing too much weight on your racking system. This is problematic because it can cause damage to the frame which can lead to a collapse at any time, putting your staff in immediate danger.
To avoid this, all staff should be made aware of the load capacity to avoid this risk of exceeding the load capacity. Place the heaviest loads or pallets at the bottom towards the back of each shelf so the system is not top heavy and potentially weakened.
